Meet the Founder - Sharon Bryant Johnson, Ed,S.

The Founder's Corner

A lifelong educator, mentor, and advocate for girls finding their voice and purpose.

Who She Is

Sharon Johnson is a Media Specialist/Librarian with over 37 years in education. She was raised in Allport, Arkansas, and shaped by the values of faith, education, and service, Sharon brings a steady commitment to helping girls become confident, purpose-driven leaders.

Her academic journey includes  a degree in Education from Philander Smith College and the University of Central Arkansas where she earned degrees in Educational Leadership and Education Specialist, grounding her in leadership, communication, and strategic thinking.

Her Why

Sharon’s passion for youth development grew from mentoring early in her career and witnessing girls who were full of potential yet lacked guidance. Influenced by her faith, her mother, and the women who mentored her, she strives to embody three words: authentic, driven, and compassionate.

How Next Generation EmpowerHer Began

The program took root in small group sessions where they focused on self-esteem, leadership, and life skills—responding to a clear need for mentorship and safe spaces. Officially founded in 2025, the name reflects a long-term vision: empower girls today so they become the women who empower others tomorrow.

  • Next Generation EmpowerHer Started with intimate mentoring circles and practical skill-building.
  • It was built on consistency, compassion, and community partnership.
  • Early breakthroughs confirmed the mission and model.

Defining Moments

From shy participants leading discussions to alumnae returning as mentors, these full-circle moments illustrate the ripple effect of empowerment.

“Empowerment is helping a girl recognize the strength she already possesses.”
“You are powerful, you are worthy, and you are enough. Your voice and dreams matter.”

— Sharon Johnson, Ed.S.
